In addition to heat, sudden cold can help break things apart. Cooling sprays are used to diagnose electronic circuits. They used to be Freon, I don't know what they are now (be cautious, likely to be flammable and/or toxic). I used to repair guitars and corroded parts were endemic. Most of the time I could loosen things up with alternating boiling water and ice-water plunges. Always use a penetrating oil first. Use plenty and let it soak at least overnight.
