Thanks guys... I called a welder down town who welded something on my storm gsi. Told him the problem and how big the hole was and he said no problem bring her down monday. By the way...HELL NO I'm not giveing up on my five! I did say something to that affect when I was p----- off when I found it. But actually my fiancee Said all that youve done with that car and how much you love that d--- car and your going to let it go because of a little hole. As usual...She was right! Todd
: Call me a hack, but I fiberglassed a patch in. Pretty easy and can't re-rust. The reason it rusted is probably you have (or had) a water leak that kept the carpet pad wet for extended period of time.
: I did treat the surrounding metal with Extend which is good but nowhere as tough as the Wurth stuff.
: But you have to fix the leak if it's there.

: : This the only rust worth talking about. I don't even have any surface rust on the body. This is kinda of a stunner. Bad thing is I have to get the car inspected today. Lucky for me the old guy that does my car only checks tires, brakes and lights so hopefully I can slip it by him.He doesn't even own a lift to really look under neath. I just hoping when he pulls a tire he does it on the driver side. Todd : This is impossible to answer w/o knowing the condition of the rest of the car. If this is the only rust, it's certainly worth fixing. You can cut whatever you need from a parts car and weld it in. Then prime both sides with something like Wurth Rost Guard, paint the top if you want, and undercoat the bottom. People have done it on 3.0CS a thousand times (or more).
