I agree with Bill. I get such a kick out of big brakes kits for Toyota Supras, Corvettes, e39 540i/M5s and other performance heavy weights. You want really stopping power, loose some weight.

Get your e12 down to sub 3000 lbs, get good air into the brakes (ducts), and make sure the system is in tip top shape - you will have brakes that will lock up the wheels at 100 mph on lap 10 of drivers school.

There is a guy at in our chapter that has an e30 M3 with a late model 3.0L M3 motor. It has the trick 6 piston calipers from BMP with big rotors. His comment, "big deal f#cking deal, so I can lock up my wheels sooner" - tires are the limiting factor with his brakes.

Even with my e30 V8 car I am building, I will run the stock e30 M3 brakes because the car is so light (sub 2500 lbs). Not going after market until I need to.
