I think I used nearly a quart when I replaced the brake fluid on my car. I use a MityVac brake bleeding tool that draws a vacuum on the bleed fitting on the caliper. I bleed one caliper at a time starting in front. When the fluid turns clear, I go on to the next. You do need to pump the brake pedal a couple of times when you start to get the old fluid out of the master cyl. I bought the MityVac tool from J.C. Whitney. There is likely a cheaper source.
