I did the research. I would agree the oil lube will last longer but you also have to ask yourself how much you will really use it. You are only going to strip a car down 3 to 4 or 5 or 6 ....

My concerns were noise because I have two little ones living against the garage wall that I have the compressor on. The oillube and the oiless two stage are the quietest. The loudest and the least appealing was the single stage oiless. I ended up getting a great deal on the Sears two stage 30 gallon upright. It's big but fits in the back of the Cherokee and has wheels to make it easy to roll.

You will find the most are made by the same company so don't worry about brand name too much.. Just do your homework and figure out which are really which.

Oh, and don't bother with an air wratchet. It's a waste of money. You will use it once and then figure out they are too loud and too slow compared to the gun. Don't go overboard on the gun either. They are like the compressors with the name swapping. You can buy 5 cheap ones for the price of one really good one. I am still using the cheap one which was well used when I got it.
