Well, it's always surged since the day I got it and burns a significant amount of oil because of bad valve seals. But with the local BMW CCA doing an autocross this year, I figured I'd strengthen up the little car and show some of those guys what the original 5-series is capable of.
I've got two problems, though:
Engine surges at idle. If I press down the gas it'll stop when I reach about 2,000rpm. I have no idea how to remedy this since this car is the only F.I. car I own (infact, it's the only car that doesn't have a chevy 350).
My valve seals are bad. I've noticed that this is fairly common in our cars once we hit about 120,000 miles. How hard is it to replace them and how much would it approx. cost?
