Thanks for the response and yes - I am very aware of the output of the turbo era F1 engines. No history lesson necessary here.
Between special gas, water injection, very high boost, a very short power curve they were all (Honda, Renault, Ferrari) getting some very impressive HP numbers. It came down to who was the most reliable. I believe Renault was doing it with an iron production based block, like BMW.
The folks that refered to the 450 hp limit for the 3.5L were talking about the supercharger limit, not the BMW engine.
What kind of numbers is your 4L Turbo making? Please share any drivablity issues you have had. I am looking to have a very good road course car, not just a quarter mile special. Any insight you could share would be appreciated.
