I went through this last summer...
You can get thick guibos and thick or thin jurids. My 5sp 1980 528i had a thick guibo when I went to change it. However people have told me that I should have had the thinner jurid coupling. Pretty much it appears that you can put either in. If you change the bolt length you can even change from thick to thin and vice versa. If you do change thicknesses you will have to adjust the length of the driveshaft by loosening the collar in the middle of the driveshaft where the spines are.
IMHO I think that the jurids are better (had better longevity with jurid couplings on my autocross/track 320i). When I changed my 528i guibo last summer I could only find the thick guibo or the thin jurid and I didn't want to deal with finding shorter bolts (I was in a hurry to replace it).
