i posted a while ago, suspecting it was timing chain. closer inspection showed my alternator was not straight with the engine (slightly forward). i took it off yesterday and took apart all the mountings and it seems better now, altho i noticed the belt was in bad nick, and the noise is now constant, rather than coming and going!!!
i felt the water pump and it had no slop in it,as wellas the alternator.
any ideas out htere???
what are the warning signs before a timing chain sh1ts itself?????
