It explains the why and how of it. You will find that the hose on our car should be hooked up to the bottom right small port on the throttle body, down near the valve cover breather hose. If your t-body is correctly adjusted as per peters spec, that port is under a vacume due to it being BEHIND the throttle plate at idle. When you start to roll on the power the plate naturally opens causing the atmospheric pressure to equilize. When this happens the booster can no longer retard the timing and it returns (via spring tension) to the standard spec for improved throttle response. It could be that if everything looks good mechanically that your throttle body adjustment is out of whack and the butterfly plate is craked open too much that you dont get the vacume build-up behind the plate you need. If so adjust it and see what happen's. Heck if you haven't done the TB adjustment yet you probably need to do it anyway. Even though mine was only a bit out, following the guide made a big difference in my quality of idle. With a meter your talking a half hour max job. Good luck,Matty 1976 530i.
