motors in 5,6 and 7 series, all prior to 1982, that has been consistent oil consumption and in most of those cars I had the blue startup smoke. On my 82 733 a couple of years ago, I drove it from Oregon to South Dakota and back with no problems, 75 MPH most of the way, and 23-24 MPG and a quart of oil every two tanks. It's pretty normal.
