Vehicle is a 1975 530I with no thermals. REPLACED: Combo Relay, Temp Time Switch, Cold-start Valve, Temp Sensor. plugs, plug wires, Distributor cap, rotor, points, pluts. NOT REPLACED: AFM, Aux Air Valve, ECU, rear fuel filter/expansion canister. Note that there is no binding on AFM door. Fuses and grounds have been checked. Injectors on the vehicle leaked once but have since then stopped.

Symptom "A": Upon first start in the morning I intermittently experience an internal backfire/explosion emanating from the intake manifold. This backfire/explosion, which I would liken to a giant sneeze, has enough force to blow off one of the plugs which I have covering a vacuum line on the intake manifold. From there it takes 6-8 cranks to get the vehicle to start and run. Symptom generally occurs when there is a substantial change in temprature.

Symptom "B" is that the vehicle stumbles and tends to hesitate substantially associated with a fairly large loss of power at partial or WOT.

Any suggestions/Advice for problem "A" or "B" TIA
