It sounds like things are not going well since the last time we traded insights.
Symptom B is similar to one that I had with my 3.5. The fix ended up being to put a new coil in it. I tried a bosch gt40 but in the end went back to the factory standard item. Runs like a dream now.
FOr symptom A I would suggest trying to get your hands on a known good AFM. If your engine has backfired a couple of times it may have damaged the AFM. Also I have had experience with these items "going bad" overnight. I put a "new" one in and the problem was fixed.
That old AFM that caused 12 months of heart ache for me is now a very good paper weight.
