With a 3.5 in an 80 633 stock seemed kind of weak, not really a problem, but it did seem like I could overpower it and make it slip if I dumped the clutch fairly hard, but nothing extreme. I'd go for the one out of a stock US spec 535i if you plan on driving hard, but stock E12 is ok if you are just a putter, or at least don't drive too hard. I mean I put 40K on the car with no problems, but it just didn't seem as stout as it could be.
