But it is probably even safer than the e12, which is saying quite a lot. The amazing thing about my e23's was that on the 82 with 250K and a 3HP transmission, I got better gas mileage than all of the e12's I have driven, with the exception of an 81 5spd OD. The last time I took it to South Dakota, I put 3700 miles on it in a week and consistently got 23-24 MPG at 75+ on the interstate.
