I agree that sounds like way too much. Last summer I bought my '77 530i for $1,200. Says 93000 on the odo, but it has the split gear syndrome and doesn't work all the time. Mechanically its in good shape, engine overhauled, but needs paint and interior stuff. Based on what I've seen on this board since then, I think I even over-paid a little for it.
