I am interested to know what is simpler on an 80 than a 79. Especially considering when I buy parts (for the injection, emissions, ignition) they say 79-81?? I know the little stuff like fan clutch and mirrors, and air slide valve? All can easily be updated.

: For $2500 you should be able to find a '80-'81 528i. It'll have a 5-speed and simpler emission controls and simpler injection.
