If I am not mistaken,the very first 4spd. autos has a mechanical speedo drive.But I remember breifly researching this for my own car, and beleive it could be done if you got the right year tranny.I'm not sure if it was a 6 or 7 series
but the tranny you are looking for was only offered for a couple of years.Sorry I couldn't be more informative.
