Drop the kick panel, phillips screws in the corners, to access the switch. Many wires go to a single plug that pulls off.

Work your fingers along the switch tube to feel two plastic appendages ( I think at 3 and 9 o'clock), that need to be squeezed, compressed to allow the switch to push out the hole in the dash.

Once the switch is out you'll see it's easy in, hard to get out. After that, there are a bunch of little plastic arrow squeezers, stuck in little squares around the switch. Supposedly there is a way to compress them to get the switch apart.

If you do it, your brain will be way big enough to fix what's wrong with things inside the switch.
