I am fortunate (or unfortunate enough) to live in a part of the country where Rolling Toys are the order of the day. Throughout the summer, there are Rod, Custom, and Import or Exotic car shows almost every weekend. Every Wednesday night all the Rod & Custom folks meet at the Dairy Queen for 3-4 hours (Usually 30-40 cars in attendance). This years FlashBack Cruz a month ago drew almost 400 cars. Attendance at all shows has been up almost 25-30% this year.
Yesterday was the Sunriver (Oregon) Exotic Car Show. Everything from mid 60's original Mini S Cooper Innocenti to 2004 Prototype for the new Lotus Elise.
Also included the usual run of Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Original Beck Spyder, Ton-O-Porshes, lotta Lotuses, On and On.
BMW was in attendance, not in high numbers, but in a good cross section... M1, 3.0 Bavaria, 3.0 CSi, couple of 850's, Z3, Z8, 4 M5's, and a couple of others I am sure.
I have to go to the bank tomorrow to take out a loan for enough money to have all the film developed. I may teach digital photography classes at the college, but personally, when I want exceptional quality on my photographs... still using film. Digital is for convenience, film is for quality. That may change, but it's not there yet. Not on what I am willing to spend.
It's been a great Summer. Can't wait to see how many more cars show up next year.
