Clipped extra headlight bulb to fuse holder (thanks): very bright: pulled fuse-box ground and removed fuse-box: pulled heater/blower wire off fuse clip, reassembled everything and tested w/headlight -- no light. This means that the short is coming from the heater/blower wire, , ,correct? Reassembled everything to original state and got light again. Pulled kick-plate under steering wheel and visually traced wire all the way across uder dash to where it goes back through the firewall on upper left side of glovebox. Now , , there was another fat green wire connected to the power window breakers but this did not come directly from the wiring harness as it came through the firewall. I pulled this wire off and retested headlamp. Light was still bright. This is not shorted, correct? Reconnected wire to window breaker. Fat green wire also connected to two relays up under dash (did you know that ALL the relays on the car are the same part #?). Pulled these relays and no effect on headlight. Traced fat green wire to a block-connector on inner left side of center air vent on dash that has many wires connected to it. Could not get this connector removed. Now, the fat green wire passes by the fan switch dial, but keeps on going with only the other many colored wires going to the fan switch dial. Is the block-connector some sort of power distribution point? I also removed the two wires from the fan motor itself in the engine compartment and the headlight still lit up. Sounds like I'm going to have to disconnect the block-connector somehow???? Maybe it's the fan switch dial?? What do I do now. First time doing this -- it's fun, but with my bi-focals, it's a bit annoying.
