slashes in front. US e24s with the twin cam were badged M6 and had the three slashes. US E28's were badged M5 and had the three slashes with the M. European cars with the Twin Cam in the Six were badged M635, but did not use the three slashes and M alone. Therefore, it seems to me that a ///M635i is overbadged and probably fake. I think that in younger circles the word is "Poser".
