If by chance you mean cycling idle, unplug the idle switch and see if the idle is just excessive but being trimmed back by Ljet coasting fuel cutoff function.
You could be a little lean at idle. Even factory cam'd M30's need to idle a little rich IMO.
You could measure O2 sensor voltage to see how lean it is (I assume this is US market car when you mention Bavaria)
