And, you might consider installing some sort of pointless ignition. You could get a 528i distributor and ICU, or you could get a Pertronix kit for your distributor.
Once all that's done, then you might consider rebuilding your front suspension as others suggested. Replace the control arms, tie rods, center track rod, strut rod bushings, upper strut bearings, and the swaybar bushings and links. Oh yeah, a front stress bar helps to make the car tighter and more precise.
