It's probably tranny time, but you might try draining the fluid and changing the filter if you haven't been doing it regularly. Or if the fluid that drains out is dark and burnt and has lots of little pieces that come out with it, it's definitely tranny time. Or if it's low on fluid it will slip, so you have checked to see that it is full I presume.

It's a little unusual that it's stuck in second, typically they go by wearing out the "A" clutch pack (a much bigger problem on the 4 speed auto's) and just slip a lot. So you might get lucky, but don't get your hopes up.
