When I pulled the 4 speed to do the seals and shift kit I found something im not sure of. On the very top of the trans is the detent shaft which of course protrudes aft. Just to the right of it is a little button type vent. Right above the detent shaft is a hardened allen bolt with a hardend wave washer. i found this bolt loose (finger) when I dropped the trans. Pulling the bolt you can look into the hole and see the selector shaft. Now if I was to tighten it up it would hit the selector shaft well before it bottoms out. I rolled the shaft to see if there was a channel cut into it but dont see it. I know most of you all have exorsized the 4 speeds from your machines moons ago. If any of you all have a unit laying around could you take a peek at it and see if that bolt is supposed to be loose or if MY rig is just messed up.
