Oil burning tends to make blue-grey smoke.

White exhaust is usually a water or coolant
signature. I get a bit of light steam now and then
on cold starts for a minute or two, which I attribute
to a bit of condensation left in the exhaust pipes
from the previous drives. Water is, after all, a
by product of gasoline combustion.

Water doesn't evaporate so readily in Houston
because the swamp air is already saturated.
