Windshield are a bit time consuming, but I've broken one in about a dozen and that was taking it out because it wasn't going in right. My procedure is to put it in the gasket with sealant between the glass and the gasket and then put it in with waterless hand cleaner as a rubber lube. That stuff is slicker than snot and water soluable to it will just wash off. And I know what the big blue book says, but I always put the trim/lockstrip in after the windshield is installed. I mean it is a lockstrip to prevent the windshield from coming out. And use the hand cleaner to put the lockstrip in too. On E's 3, 12, 21 and 28 I have never used sealant between the body and the gasket and had no problems with leaks. On E's 23 and 24 I've had problems and needed it. It's not hard, just be patient and don't force anything.
