Hi.
New to the whole e12 scene.
Living in the Phoenix, AZ. area, and my recently-acquired 1980 528i stopped running with no warning - and less than a mile after fillup.
After replacing leaky electric fuel pump (read: bomb) and filter - still no start.
I have opened AFM flap and can hear the combo relay clicking as it opens, but still no fuel pump.
Is the rear-seat relay fuel-related?
I get zero continuity and zero resistance across any terminals of that unit, but unsure if that's really a sign of failure due to its internal circuitry (diodes, etc). There should at least be continuity for the main relay coil though, right?
If it is for the pump, is it a specialty item, or will any of the other relays just pop in - at least to test it?
I'll keep looking thru the archives in the meantime.
Great board, BTW, what I've seen of it so far.
Thanks for your input.
Ken
p.s. anybody here in the Metro Phoenix area?
