I have an '81 M535i that is burning oil, though not terribly excessive. A couple a weeks ago it became hard to start -- extended cranking before starting. It also was very rough and would almost die if I didn't give it gas. It acts like the choke, if it had one, wasn't working. It worked fine one day and then on the next it didn't. Even with the hot weather it hasn't improved. Any idea if my oil consumption has something fouled? What might my problem be?
