First, please don't call me a traitor...I committed to buy an '85 Euro 635csi for a reasonable price and will pick it up this weekend in San Diego. I couldn't resist the 218hp engine and small bumpers...It's advertised in the Excite classifieds if you're interested in taking a look at it. So I'm probably won't look for an E12 for a while unless someone wants to trade a nice E12 with a 3.5 transplant for my '86 735i auto (FAT CHANCE!)
Second, there is an '81 528i automatic for sale for $3k in the local Auto Trader (www.ocautotrader.com). I spoke to the owner briefly, he is the second owner and had a valve job done 3 years ago. The picture appears to show a nice car in Sahara Beige. If anyone is seriously interested, I'll go look at the car, he is fairly close to where I work.
