I wouldn't worry about engine damage. You didn't loose that much would be my guess. As far as the temp gague not to many of these cars are accurate. Due to the age the grounds need some tweeking and they often fluctuate on mine a tick or 2 when I out on my headlights or another accessory. Try watching it and turn some stuff on and off. Both of mine did it. Matt
