My parts car ('79 528iA euro) apparently has a "hot" cam in it and goes pretty hard so I decided to do a head swap with my car.
Pulled the EFI gear and rocker cover off just now and noticed the cam is stamped BMW and 1250057.1 which I assume is a part number? I hoped to see Schrick ####.
Is this actually a std cam or what?
The head has been changed at some stage and is stamped '81 but its on a '79 car.
PS. The fuel hoses leading to the injectors were REALLY BADLY PERISHED and I again encourage all members to check and replace theirs. The short ones under the EFI gear are hard to get at (you have to remove the EFI hardware) but you dont want a fire now do you.
