Hi All,
Great comments! I too have a "newer car" a V8 Holden SS ute and even though it is a great car and wonderful to drive, it doesn't have the same feel as the old E12!
I am spending a rediculous amount of time, effort and money on my old '77 528i to get it looking and feeling like it did when it left the factory but I don't really mind. It is such a classic car and has in my opinion good looks and a style all its own.
Mike, keep your chin up! There have been many times when I have felt similar thoughts to you but I know that if I didn't have my old 528i, I'd be lost and always be searching for another! Trust me, I have had 4 E12's amongst a whole heap of cars in my 35 years and everytime I sold an E12, I missed it despite the head problems, rust, road noise etc!! Granted they don't have quite the same refinement of a new BMW but what they have is irreplaceable! Just my thoughts!
Scott.
