1. Great. If you have a Haynes manual, you can
check differences like that between 77 and pre 77 530i.

2. OK. I think the confusion is that these two
ballast resistors are not a 530i part. You will
need these from the 528i - P/N is BMW 12-14-1-360-676 listed
in my table in the FAQ. You will need to drill a couple
holes in the inner fender for this new part. Same
is true of the ign ctrl unit.

3. The 6 injector resistors will not be used
in the 528i setup. If the connector which needs
a home is rectangular and black on the engine wiring
harness, that plugs into the fuse box. FAQ lists
all connections for both harnesses.

4. Dual heavy gauge red wires should go to
starter solenoid as well as lighter gauge black/red and black/yl
wires. All three come from a branch of the engine
wiring harness.

It sounds like you may have the 530i engine wiring
harness still in place? If so, that gets replaced
w/ the 528i harness and may help you find a place
for these extra wires you are trying to place.

My 77 530i engine wiring harness was black and braided. In comparison,
the 528i engine wiring harness is a bit beefier and
has smooth grey insulation.

Keep us posted on your progress.
