If its not cranking then simply examine everything in the signal and mechanical paths.
1) Battery to provide power
2) ignition switch "start" contacts
3) wiring from there to whereever (alternator? starter relay?)
4) starter/starter wiring
You could have your starter bench tested pretty cheaply and easily.. most autozone's will bench test your starter for free.
Not cranking at all is indicative of a wiring / switching fault, or a starter failure.
If it's a manual you can try pop-starting it.
