That is the right one both by looking at it and coming out of an 80 E24. 83 and later E24's wont work, but this one will. The ratio is stamped in the case, but the number of teeth, not the numeric ratio. It would be something like 38/11, which would be 3.45. Be careful if your car is stock the euro ratios may be too high, it could be a 3.25 (which would probably be ok) or a 3.07 which would be pretty tall for a stock US spec E12.
