I tried on a Bavaria I used to have that had a very optimistic speedo. By adjusting the spring length I could make it accurate at a certain speed, but I couldn't correct it overall. Since it started by reading high, it would still be high until I got to a certain speed, beyond that it would be low. It doesn't explain well, but it made sense looking at it. I do remember reading years ago that domestic cars had small reduction/multiplication gearboxes available for speedo cables for changing ratios. That might be an option if my memory serves me right, or if it's accurate now, just mentally adjust it. Since it is about 6-7%, it would be about a 4MPH change at 60. Not too hard on the head. Or go crazy and put in an E28 subframe and diff and electronic speedo...
