The year doesn't matter, they were all the same, even E28's used the same pump. On the other hand, IMHO all they do is let you more completely empty the tank, get that last gallon or so out. Oh, and it might start a little bit easier if it is so low the low fuel light is on. But otherwise it will run just the same, same power, same mileage, same response.
