Those with an auto ('80 528i 3HP22 in my case) may know there is a cable running from the throttle linkage on the throttle body back to the Auto.
I have read the Haynes about how it should be adjusted but I do not understand what effedt that adjustment has.
Does it change the shift pattern so it holds gears longer & kicks down sooner or does it have a different purpose.
I had my car in the shop this week and they adjusted the position of the accelerator pedal which was too far off the floor. It feels much better now but the auto seems to want to shift from 1st to 2nd at about 3500 even under full throttle. I want it to rev out further.
