Injectors can develop leaks, either internally or externally which is what he would have to be referring to. I've had to replace a bunch over the years on several cars. But... they are on the intake side, well away from the exhaust manifold. In my experience the first clue is the odor. It hardly takes any gas to produce a strong odor of gas. Typically they start to weep rather than actually dripping. With a practiced eye you can tell even if they aren't actually wet. They will have kind of an oily dirty residue on them around the body, and the non leaking ones will be nice and clean, or dusty, but not oily looking.

Unless something is so bad it is spraying gas, everything in the fuel department is on the intake side. Not saying you couldn't have a leak, just that it shouldn't be dripping on the exhaust.

Or ask the guy to show you the leak.
