The junkyards near me (a few miles south of I-55 on Route 83 for you Chicag people) had two E12's, surprisingly. The first has a poor, rusty, '78 530i that's been picked over in some areas, but has some good bits. I will most likely return tomorrow for a new rear tail light lens, but it has the motor w/head still, pretty nice dashboard, decent console with analog clock, 140mph speedo, and decent door panels and window chrome trim. The front seats are also in excellent shape considering it's been sitting with the sunroof open (well, the sunroof is gone to be truthful). The interior is black, the car is that orangy/maroon E12 color. Kastenrot or something? It was resting on its brake rotors .... hood up, no sunroof as I mentioned, and a smashed rear window.

The other yard has a 98% complete '75 or '76, seventies puke green, 530i. Bad rust in places poking through which is a shame because this car would fit the bill for my E12 track-car dream. It's an auto, with tan interior. I couldn't tell if it was a '75 or '76 because I couldn't find the DOT sticker in the door jamb and there wasn't a year by the underhood vin plaque.

I can give more details to anyone interested in parts.
