HELP! Trunk lock/button stuck in

Guys,

A friend of mine has a 91 325i and the lock on the trunk is stuck IN - tried a few things but no luck.

Since the lock is the same as on an e12 (or so I'm lead to believe) I thought some one might have some thoughts...
