My 200,000 miler does that. Oil is clear, doesn't burn much, runs fine otherwise, who cares ?
You don't say miles. Heads on these can go over 100 if maintained; bottoms over 300. Nuts.
Fixing things is always a daisy chain, or, " While you are there, replace seals, gaskets, pumps, chains, etc. which is fine and fun if you are in to restoration. A pain and waste of money if you have rust, or better things to do with $2,000.
