Hi Michael. I don't think Don realized you have a question here about the mirror. I think that mirror only came in an E30 M3. I have one in my E12 M535i and it just snaps right in.
I agree, Don's car was magnificent. I, too, used pictures of his interior for inspiration to convince my wife to re-do my interior. It worked, we changed the interior color from black to tan and she gave me the interior re-upholtering and the carpet set for this past Christmas. She even installed the carpet and re-glossed the door wood herself! I even put the M color bars (ala E28 M5 and M535i) in mine like he did but I didn't just copy him on that, I had already planned to do it when I saw the pictures of his from 5er Fest '02.
I sure do envy Don (and many others like him on this board) for their talent. I sure don't have it but I really respect it in others.
