A milestone...today the ugly but FREE Bavaria ripped around under its own power! This after 14+years of sitting outside and abandoned.
Of course, the poor thing was dragging one of its locked wheels around parking lot but I digress...
I drove it around the gravel storage area with NO brakes! At least one of the calipers is frozen but the pleasant surprise was that the auto tranny seems to work O.K.
I replaced a few fuel lines, had the seized and NLA alternator rebuilt ($60!), replaced the missing v-belts, etc. Lots of tweeking but now it starts and runs without any problem.
I had a great time doing a BIG SMOKEY BURNOUT with the rotten rear tires!
Pretty cool...
