Well we finally did it. My hubby and I got my dad to get himself an e12. He's been in love with mine since he bought it (with the intention of giving it to me when I turned 16) 13 years ago and now he has one of his own. He's excited.
We did the deal with Brian in Abilene, TX and took home his '80 528i, (COTM March, 2004) with which he included a very nifty and complete 3.5 longblock and endless spare parts.
We were a little nervous about the 800-mile 12-hour trip back to Tucson, but as it turns out the car ran great and made the whole trip without any problems whatsoever. We had a really nice time and were glad to get the chance to meet such a sincerely nice guy.
Now we have two e12's and two 3.5's waiting to go into them. I think mine will undergo the transplant first because of its much higher mileage, but the other will not far behind.
These cars are just amazing!
