Thank you Mike for the quick advice. Now I don't have to get dirty in the hot AZ sun at a dusty junkyard tearing into that car to find that integrated Trans. & Bell housing will not fit my big 6 engine.
At first I had a little hope when I saw in an old BMP Design Catalog had listed the 5,6,7 Series e28, e24, e23 5 speed for year 1983-1984 to have their part number of #90123 for a Remanufactured Transmission. The catalog listing made no distinction that the 5 series needed to be the baby 6 engine or the big six. And we know the US spec. 6 & 7 series all had the big six, so I thought then the #90123 must fit my 76 530i.
Anyway now I will look for another...and it appears there are lots of offers & leads.
