Thank you Nathan for the offer for hooking me up with an '82 733i near Spokane WA... I wonder how much they want for it ??

I sure liked the idea of having something in my backyard close by and the entire drive train on that junk 1983 528e was for a super dirt cheap price...and I could get the trans. with bell housing, clutch slave cylinder, driveshaft, rubber drive coupling, shift tower, transmission mounts and even the diff....

I also haven't checked all the other yards here yet. I know some BMW yards only, but they seem to always want like new car dealer parts prices for old junk with lots of miles just cause it's a BMW...

I had hope when I saw in an old BMP Design Catalog had listed the 5,6,7 Series e28, e24, e23 5 speed for year 1983-1984 to have their part number of #90123 for a Remanufactured Transmission. The catalog listing made no distinction that the 5 series needed to be the baby 6 engine, or a 528e or the big six. They never said only 533i. And we know the US spec. 6 & 7 series all had the big six, so I thought then the #90123 must be able fit my 76 530i engine...

And this deal about no speedo drive on the 1983 528e ?? What is the story behind that?
