Wicked. My bro' would love to see that - he's got a '72 auto-Bav he wants to swap to a 5-speed one day. And my former was an E30 - loved that car but the family wouldn't tolerate me owning two after I found my Shark.

E12 subframe bushes bolt on in their cylinder, much easier (apparently) than E28's which have to be pulled.

Another major E28 improvement is they added dogbone pitmans for dynamic geometry changes.

Wow don't know how you drove much with that giubo. When that happened to mine it was a loud clunk which repeated itself anytime I put more than moderate throttle on. I drove straight to the shop.

BTW - when I first bought the car 5 years ago there was considerable shudder on ...

I've done one of these (so far) with a carriage bolt, the big washers from the rod, and a few different short lengths of 1 1/2" (ID) copper pipe. A bit of impact wrench on the bolt nut.

Insertion of new with the setup reversed was greatly aided by dish detergent lube.
